Medicare has approved the Protonics Neuromuscular System for
reimbursement for all conditions (low back, knee, hip, sciatica and others) as
long as a physician writes a prescription for Protonics.
Inverse Technology Corporation (ITC), the parent company of Protonics, will file all
necessary claims and forms with Medicare and will accept assignment of the
amount approved by Medicare as the price for the Protonics. If Medicare, for
some rare reason (such as a patient has already recently received a Protonics
system), denies payment for the Protonics System, the patient can return the
system free of charge or purchase the system direct.
If you have supplemental insurance, Inverse will also file the secondary claims
with your private insurance company. Most private supplemental insurance plans
generally pay for the deductible/co-insurance amounts remaining from your
Medicare plan. If you do not have supplemental insurance, or if your
supplemental insurance denies payment, you will be responsible for payment of
the deductible/co-insurance amounts.
If you have a Medicare Advantage Plan, such as the Humana
Gold Plan or the UHC Medicare Advantage Plan, their guidelines and plan
participation requirements vary from straight Medicare. If you have an
Advantage Plan, please contact us at 800-222-5778 to discuss your coverage.
Steps to Ordering through Medicare
1. Obtain a prescription from your primary care physician or specialist.
2. Contact ITC at
800-222-5778 to provide your Insurance and Patient information. ITC will
check on your insurance to determine coverage for the Protonics System.
